Following our trip to the casino last week, I decided I wanted to become more skillful in Blackjack, so decided to find some online games to play this weekend. Has anyone out there been to a Casino recently? What do yu enjoy playing? I must say that my favourite game is probably Blackjack. I do like the fact that you do have some sort of control over what’s going on, much unlike the randomness of Roulette. Interesting idea for a competition huh? Well, the thing I’m not too sure about in this case is what sort of audience it will attract. I’m sure there will be loads of lads flocking down there for a try, but this sort of competition may alienate the website’s female audience. Having said that, the websites audience may be predominantly male and that might be what sparked off this whole competition. It’s a pretty interesting way to run a competition though, especially for everyone out there with webcams and video cameras. So, what do you reckon? Will you give it a try?

Do not play this game unless you have loads of time on your hands. Desktop Tower Defense is a strategy game that is a simple as it is addictive. You have to defend against waves of attackers using a variety of defence towers. It’s actually mor complex to explain than to watch, so head down there and check it out.

Luxor

I got stuck playing a game called Luxor this morning. It’s an arcade game that involves shooing balls into a moving “snake” with the aim of getting 3 or more of the same colour together which reduces the size of the snake. Ok, that’s not a very good description, and it’s much easier to understand if you try it out yourself. If you like it, you might also like to try out Zuma, same concept; just with an Aztec theme instead of an Egyptian one.

If anyone out there is suffering from a cold (just like I am), you might enjoy this game. Virus 2 is a stategy game where you need to “infect” all the cells on the screen with the colour you’re playing. As with all viruses you must assimilate your nearby cells by taking on their colour. My top score is 26,603. Can you beat it ?

The Rise of ARGs

I came across a great post about ARGs (Alternate Reality Games). They are games that bridge the real world with a fantasy game world, using real world artefacts, like puzzle cards, blogs, music etc as clues to supplement the virtual game world. Sounds pretty exciting, and I might get into one of these when I have time (i.e. when I retire keke).
