Do you like horror films? If so, keep a look out for a new movie called Bug by Lionsgate Films. It’s directed by William Friedkin (that’s the guy responsible for The Exorcist), and stars Ashley Judd, Harry Connick Jr and Michael Shannon. The movie has 2 posters, one that is a clever juxterposision between the lead acress and a huge giant bug and the other showing two actors melded into each other. I think the former is much more effective and has a more chilling effect on me. The catchline says it all really: First they send in their drone, then they send in their queen.

You can watch the trailer to the bug movie here below .. so hold on tight:YouTube Movie: Click here

So, what’s the story of this bug movie. Well, I didn’t manage to get much from the trailer, but I found out it’s based on a play called Bug written by Tracy Letts, so I’m assuming the storyline is going to be quite similar. Not having read/watched the play I can only guess that it’s a horror story and there’s bugs involved. But that’s enough to get my skin crawling already. I spent a time being quite into horror films and this film promises to be full of tension and scares, so I’m quite looking forward to it.

There’s been a whole bunch of medical series on TV recently, more than you can shake a bunch of nursing uniforms at. I’ve been watching Grey’s Anatomy series 3 at the moment and I’m definitely enjoying it.

And it’s not the only medical drama out there. I have a new series called House which looks like it’s great. It’s just started here in the UK, but it’s already at series 3 in the US. Now it’s just a matter of finding some time to watch it!

So we ended up watching Mr Bean’s Holiday instead. And, in all honesty, I must say that I enjoyed it.

The movie is quite light-hearted, as with most of Rowan Atkinson’s work, and quite tongue-in-cheek, but works well, both for a young, as well as a more mature audience. It’s closer to the classic Bean series than to the previous movie, but much more sophisticated than them. It feel very well ‘knitted’ with everything culminating towards the end and all threads being woven together quite skilfully. I’m not going to say more, for fear of letting on the plot.

Bad news for all you Bean fans out there. Teddy doesn’t actually feature in this movie. But it’s still a great one. Go watch it!

While on the subject of charity, I’ve noticed that The Ultimate Gift has been turned into a movie starring Academy Award nominee Abigail Breslin (10 years old), James Garner, Ali Hillis, Drew Fuller and Brian Dennehy, which is going to be released over the next couple of weeks. The review on IMDb looks extremely promising.

The storyline is about a billionaire who dies and leaves his family a number of tasks to do in order to acquire their inheritance. This may sound like many other films, but it turns into a heart-warming story of human goodness and and respect. It’s based on a book that has been around for some time now and which has amazing reviews on Amazon. I’ll have to keep an eye out for this one.

In the meantime, the movie has a website: This is the official site of the movie “The Ultimate Gift” and the grass-roots movement its starting to help charities and give to others. You can watch a trailer there and learn all about the movie, the cast and the book it’s all about. Check it out!
