A SIGG bottle for Arthur

I got this really cool bottle for Arthur, called a SIGG bottle. It’s a metal flask that’s going to keep his drinks fresh and cool while he’s at school or out of the house. Here’s a picture:

It’s made of a single piece of aluminium, extremely lightweight and looks really neat. It has a special coating on the inside to make sure that acidic drinks like juices don’t react with the metal and always retain their taste. It’s also virtually indestructible, which is just what you need when you’re preparing a drink for a 5-year old!

The bottle came from PureKit, a website where you can get all sorts of camping and outdoor gear. They do everything from footwear to sleeping bags; from rucksacks to hats. Check them out!

Lantern parade tomorrow

So, Arthur and I have been making a willow lantern over the last couple of weeks. Well, it was a couple of Sundays really, the Isle of Man Arts Council organised these sessions for people to come and learn how to make lanterns, and we took advantage of them. Here is a photo of the lantern as it was being constructed:

Back Home

We’re back home in the Isle of Man, and we’ve had a really sunny day today. It’s funny how we seem to have taken wet weather to Malta with us, and brought some sun back. Maybe we’re just lucky that way. Anyway, it’s good to be back; the water is softer, the weather is cooler, the traffic friendlier and the air fresher. We had a good trip back too, though the twins just wanted to crawl everywhere. Luckily they didn’t drop any vodka in the Duty Free shop, or chew on any acne solutions at the pharmacy. They do have a knack of finding the smallest bit of rubbish on the floor and trying to eat it, so you do have to keep your eyes on them at all times.

It’s good to be home, I’m sure they’re happier here too!

Kids at play

It’s great to watch the kids play, especially the twin who are just starting to get to grip with things. They’re getting more mobile too, Alexander took 6 uninterrupted steps yesterday! Their manual dexterity is getting better too, so the range of different things they can play with is getting wider.

The house it also turning into one giant toy store We have soft toys, teddy bears, cars, riding toys, blocks, lego, rattles, balls, jigsaws, marble games, dolls, racecars and a large stack more. And that’s just in the sitting room!

I was just thinking about how quickly kids grow; so I thought I’d take aÂ quick minute of Alexander messing around. Check it out:

He’s just at that age where everything needs to go in his mouth: food, toys, jigsaw pieces; it’s a good thing we don’t have loose diamonds running around, or you know where they would end up.

Anyway, I’ll see if I can take a few more short videos like these to share with all of you.

Clothes for the twins

The house seems to be full of clothes at the moment, but if you think about it, we’re a family of 5 now, we were 3 only a year ago. So if you just think about how many baby clothes we have running around at the moment, well, there are quite a few. The thing is, we kept most of Arthur’s clothes, some are even designer-ware, (though there’s no blac label clothing in there), but Aristea’s clothes we had to source.

It’s not that hard to find baby clothes though, people are always handing things down and we have a whole bunch for her to use. The truth is, as they get older Alexander will be handed down Arthur’s clothes, but Aristea will be getting all the new clothes. We’ll have to address that somehow!

Our 11th Anniversary

It was our 11th Anniversary a few days ago so we took the opportunity, as you do to exchange gifts. The theme for 11th anniversary was steel, which meant I couldn’t go for one of those pretty corsets or anything sexy. (It was steel for crying out loud!). So instead, I managed to find some suitable gifts from myself and the kids.

I got her a mirror on a steel stand (well, it looks like steel), from myself; a couple of steel bottle stoppers with a fancy top from the babies; and this really cute looking bird house with a galvanised steel top, which we probably will try and hang outside one of these days.

We also went out to eat, which was fun with the babies; all in all a great anniversary!
