We went to a new burger joint in Douglas called Route 66 today. It’s note quite new, because the outlet has been moving from one place to another in the Isle of Man over the years. The great thing about it is that it’s not a franchise, but a personal business so there’s a certain pride in the place that you can’t find at McDonalds, or any of the other run-of-the-mill food places you get in every town and city in the UK.
Anyway, the great thing about Route 66 is the burgers are home made from local Manx beef, and they’re the tastiest thing around. They come with a selection of different toppings and flavours. I went for the “Au Poivre” .. topped with a lovely pepper sauce. Other selections included cheese, a fresh garlic sauce and even a lovely coconut curry sauce (which will be my selection next time)
Mucho recommended!
