A bit of this and a bit of that
Owen's collection of jokes, trivia, games and all things fun
I almost made it to Vegas this month, but unfortunately didn’t manage to make it (It was actually a competition, but I didn’t manage to make it to the first place). Still, it got me thinking about the last time I went to a casino and the games I enjoy playing there. I think my favourite has to be Blackjack though. It gives you a feeling that at least there is some measure of control in what you’re doing and that it’s not purely a game of chance. I need to learn a bit more about poker but really should learn how to play first.
Once I do learn how to play, I may well head down to an online casino to get some practice before heading down to our local casino. The great thing about online casinos is that you tend to get much better promotions and your money can stretch much further (also giving you the chance to win more). Take Money Casino for example, to celebrate its 3 year anniversary, they have introduced new bonus features where players can get cashbacks on a part of their bets, and matchplay coupons that double the bet the player makes. Not only that, but when you sign up you also get a 100% match on your 5 first purchases of chips (all the way up to a $500 bonus). That’s a great way to practice and a great way to learn.
The world of poker seems more confusing than blackjack though. There seem to be lots of variants on the game, all with different name and different rules. I might just look for someone to give me a one-to-one to explain how it works, rather than trying to venture in there alone. What about you? Is poker your game or do you prefer something else at the casino?
