Week 1 of my diet

So, one week in and I’m still managing to stick to my diet. I’ve lost 4 pounds so far, so hopefully I’ll keep it up. Keeping a food diary has definitely helped. Here’s what my weight graph looks like at the moment:

I wonder if I should promise myself a present like one of those luxury watches for what I reach my target. Nah, don’t think I’ll go there, losing the weight is reward enough in itself.

Good job! I work with many weight management patients, and I’ve found that determination and consistency are the key. I try to get people to be on track to lose 1~2 lbs a week, and to keep it slow and steady. Keep up the good work, Owen!

(I randomly surfed in here looking for tools to migrate from dasBlog -> WordPress. Talk about super random.)

Hey Owen – congratulations. 4 lbs is awesome!

About the reward thing, sometimes it’s nice to set incremental goals and reward yourself with presents. 20 lbs some sort of sport ticket, etc, etc.

@caroline: Thanks for your comment. Yeah, The 4lb loss was probably more an effect of switching to a more reasonable diet (less sugars and salt) and a corresponding water loss. It’s looking like a 1-2lb a week will be easy to maintain as long as I stick to 1500 kcals a day.

p.s. I’ve done the dasBlog->WordPress move on my other blog (http://www.u-g-h.com). Was a bit messy

@Kerstin: Thanks for your comment. I’m planning to reward myself by buying some clothes, just as soon as I can walk into a shop and pick something off the shelf …

  5. Hey, hope this comment gets through I’m still somewhat new to this whole blogging thing.
great post! I found your blog while
Googling other people’s weight loss stories. I’ve actually just started blogging about
my weight loss success story – I lost over 30 pounds in a month
    with a diet I developed!

I would really appreciate it if you could stop by my weight loss blogand let me know what you think.
    Warmest wishes,
