Printed Photos (and some free ones too)

September 30th, 2008

As I frequently keep getting asked where the best places to print photos are (because of my interest in photography), I have decided to dedicate this post to Photo Printing.

First and foremost, if you want only the very best and nothing but the very best… develop your own! But as this is not realistic in most people’s cases and we do live in a day and age where digital is prevalant… lets speak digital.

The advantages of digital are numerous. You have the here and now factor. You can print directly from your camera and/or pc. You have the internet and its competition at your feet.

I find that printing your own on your printer actually tends to work out more expensive and unless you have a really good dedicated photographic printer… not very good prints. They can do for school projects or maybe a purse photo… but not much else.

The difference between one printer and the other is actually negligible. Unless you are really fussy, most people will not be able to tell the difference between one printer and another. Printers are all vying for your business and will encourage you to use them by offering you Free Prints. I personally believe that if they are being offered, then why refuse?

So below, I listed a range of photo printers offering free prints or special offers. You need to click on the adverts below to get the Free prints and / or special offers. Also note if they tell you to input a code in the advert (or you may end up not being given the prints). I have not listed the codes as they are subject to change. All the adverts are automatically updated, so all the codes will be valid.

Currently, if you apply for each of the adverts you can get yourselves 235 FREE Prints!! Aside from other offers.

Hope this helps!! If you have any questions… I will be glad to help you out if I can… just leave a comment!

Hancock

September 17th, 2008

Despite everything I had heard about Hancock not being great, I watched it recently. Personally I enjoyed it. I think it is probably more realistic than most super hero stories. I mean honestly you save the world and they are ungrateful in return!! You are also expected to be constantly in a good mood and nice. In reality who is in a good mood always. At least not me.

So if you can cope with a touch of realism in a super hero story…. then you might just enjoy it!!

Just for you to know…. there is Will Smith & Charlize Theron …. in case you were looking for an alternative reason to watch it!!

Squirrelly

September 7th, 2008

Well, after my photo of the squirrel, MysteryHK was inspired and wrote his own squirrelly post. I must say his inspiration put a big smile upon my face. His post is Muppet Show oriented and food oriented too… but go have a look… (not for the easily upset and offended!!)

Travelling Again Tomorrow!!

August 28th, 2008

Oh Bliss!! We are travelling back to IOM tomorrow. And I am already exhausted, never mind the bus, train & boat!! And I heard there are bus strikes tomorrow. No wonder travelling becomes exhausting.

Mind you I suppose there is also the funnier side of things. I mean last time we were travelling with some friends but they were staying a few days longer. We swapped tickets as ours were good for a few days and theirs expired on the day we were leaving. Except apparently theirs did not cover travel to the airport like ours! Needless to say we were fined. Try explaining that in French!!

Anyway, Owen was trying to win a competition for a holiday to Vegas. Well holiday… he wanted to attend a conference but we would have extended it to a holiday. Truthfully, I had already begun to plan it out.

I thought about using Trusted Tours & Attractions as they do Las Vegas Tours! They even have online travel guides. Anyway, if you signed up by the end of August for their newsletter you can win a $150 Magellan’s Gift Certificate.

Sadly it looks like we won’t be going. Shame. On the other hand it does mean we still have to plan our holiday. I have been hoping to head back to Ruka, but Owen is after something different. The only question is where will we be heading…. Spain, Italy, Malta, Top of the Rock, Bottom of the Ocean, Somewhere Icy, Somewhere Sunny, Somewhere New, Somewhere Old, Somewhere Close, Somewhere Far??

I shall be dreaming about that holiday!!!

School Reunion

Yesterday was our school reunion, but unfortunately I was not there. However, Graziella was sweet enough to send some photos.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter Everyone!

Love from all of us!

Ballet

January 29th, 2008

I really miss Ballet. And when we work on The Ballet Shop, I really get nostalgic. We recently uploaded a new blog to the site and have update the site with a new colour scheme. It is still a work in progress but it is really coming along nicely.

It is such a pity that I have not found a Ballet class for adults here in IOM.

Keeping Up

January 4th, 2008

Keeping up with everything is really not easy. There is Arthur’s website, my website, my surveys, my PPP, TON and who knows what! To top it off, trying to sort out Viola at the same time. Not easy in the least.

C’est la vie!

Building

November 6th, 2007

We have the pool area and adjoining rooms in Viola avenue and they need some structural work. We have been thinking or simply rebuilding the rooms as it means we have our minds at rest. So we started off by getting quotes. That alone was hard enough. You would be surprised how many people have answering machines and how many do not call back. What is the point.

So we started getting quotes. Then we thought for our protection, so the cost does not suddenly go up when they think they are milking a cash cow, we told them that we were going to have to refinance with mortgage loans. We thought that as long as they thought they were dealing with loans then they won’t add on “unexpected” costs. So we needed a change in quote and suddenly, the quote was £10k more than anticipated. Interesting!
