Monogrammed Jewelry & other gifts…

November 14th, 2009

I keep getting asked what to buy Arthur, Alexander & Aristea for Christmas, the Christening, and Arthur‘s Birthday. Not an easy task as we seem to have everything. However after scratching my head a while… I came up with these thoughts.

For Christening presents it would be nice if they were keepsakes. Things like monogrammed jewelry and personalised things will be something they can treasure forever.

Arthur is currently into Buzz Lightyear and Wall-e. He also enjoys puzzles. However, please check with me before buying because he already has a range of products like a laser gun for shooting Zork brought back from Disney.

As for Christmas, we will be in Malta… so the only thing I say, if the presents are given to us in Malta, small and light please as we have to take 2 flights back home and it is not easy(or cheap)  travelling with 3 kids under 4 and luggage! Gift Vouchers and Investments can go a long way and are very light to carry.

Hope I don’t sound too rude with my requests!

HCG

November 10th, 2009

I thought that HCG was a hormone used for fertility treatment but apparently it can also be used to help weight loss. It makes me wonder if this is helped me with my weight loss. Admittedly the diet had lots to do with my weight loss but perhaps the extra doses of HCG helped in my case. There are all sorts of things like HCG mixing kits that you can use… but I don’t know all the details. Perhaps I will look into it as I still want to lose another 12 kilos / 2 stones. I cannot believe that so far I have managed to lose 22 kilos and have managed to keep it off despite having 3 kids in the meantime. I must say dieting doesn’t come easy but I do find that thinking of those hard dieting days encourages me to not constantly over eat. Mind you there are days where I have to indulge, especially now while I am breatfeeding the twins and can temporarily get away with it!

TV for brain food!

September 19th, 2009

I am worried that I shall be vegitating once the babies come and all I do is breastfeed them. It is not like I could do with Arthur, hold him with one arm to one breast and breastfeed whereever. This will require 2 breasts and 2 arms… which leaves me unable to do anything bar watch stuff happen around me. So, hopefully TV will keep me occupied. Ok not the best brain food but at least something. I wanted to upgrade Sky but Owen muttered something about high speed satellite internet TV or something like that. I told him he could do whatever he wants as long as it is easy to use. He says it is. Not sure if I believe him, but he did promise to teach me to use it! Hopefully it will arrive before the babies, so I can learn to use it before my brain goes to automatic.

Randolph

September 3rd, 2009
I was looking at some lab coats and thinking about Randolph. He has a major eam coming up and he is really stressing. Mind you, not that I blame him. I would be stressed out too. Biology was never my strong point, let alone the intricacies of specifics! I think I will stick to psychology.  Mind you, I suppose I did not really stick to that either. Very scary working in psychology. I like photography far better because it reflects what I see and I only want to capture what I like!

Preparing for hospital

August 9th, 2009

I still need to prepare my bag for the hospital. I know it should be easy, all I need is to download a list from the internet but I cannot get round to it. I was joking with Owen, saying worst case I could send him out shopping while I am in labour!! Ok, I know this is unreasonable… but it is a plan B!

I guess unless I am given a couple of baby gift baskets and a set of mum to be things… then I need to move my backside and get my bag packed!!

Back from Paris

August 6th, 2009

We are back from Paris. I cannot believe we have been married for 10 years already. It was a fabulous holiday. Arthur particularly enjoyed the stay at Disney, though he enjoyed the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame.

The best bit was to come back and find our new cloakroom. It is fantastic to have it. I wish I did it sooner. Makes me wonder about the conservatory but at £20k… it feels far too much. I want to decorate the cloakroom, so I have been thinking of a couple of Village candles, a plant and perhaps an enlarged photo of a flower.

We are currently doing some updates to the rest of the house like the kitchen… watch this space for more details!!

Clothes

July 10th, 2009

I have been going through all my baby boy clothes from when Arthur was a baby. I cannot believe how small they were. Really tiny. Or maybe it is just that Arthur is so big now. I cannot wait to buy some girl clothes. But I think I will wait till the twins are born and confirm they are a girl and boy. At least most of the clothes up to 6 months are mostly neutral gender.

I must say I do miss Woolies as they had a lovely selection of baby things…. mind you, I do have most things now thankfully. I just need a twin baby feeding pillow.

Preparing

July 3rd, 2009

I am trying to prepare for the babies. Sometimes I feel so ready and others… well not at all. We bought a car a couple of days ago. A seven seater obviously (a Renault Espace) but I could not see us with anything smaller. I know we have 2 cots now, and a double buggy but was wondering if I need anything else like baby girl clothes. Mind you I suppose most of the clothes for the first 6 months that I have (from Arthur) are neutral colours, so I can probably temporarily get away with waiting a bit. Especially as I would prefer to confirm what the babies are when they are born. Mind you one thing I know I must get are Nappies!!!

Shopping

April 10th, 2009

I have been shopping with Roderick & Randolph over the past couple of days. We hit a number of shops including Tesco, Asda, M&S, Mothercare and so on. The worst bit was other than Mothercare I could not find any maternity clothes! As for the clothes in Mothercare, they were expensive and really nothing to write home about. You would think that an everyday black pair of maternity trousers would be a piece of cake!! Not quite.

At least the boys managed a load of shopping!

Travel

April 3rd, 2009

Arthur and I are back from Malta. We flew to Malta with RyanAir, which really isn’t that bad as long as you are not lugging around loads of luggage such as golf drivers and prams!! Actually I think 1 pram per child is actually acceptable but go over 15kg with your luggage and the costs are ridiculous. Basically I treat it as a bus service and therefore find it good.

Anyway.. what I was saying was I am back from Malta… and hopefully should start updating my blog more often.. believe me???  LOL!!
