Butterfly Arthur

Arthur went through a phase over Summer where he was obsessed by butterflies. Even I must admit they are very interesting creatures. It seems a shame that we do not see as many today as we did 20 years ago (when I was a kid). Anyway, one day he was at a party and asked to have a face painted as a butterfly. Every boy there, bar Arthur, was Spider-man but Arthur had a blue butterfly done. I like that he knows what he wants and is not afraid to not conform.

Photo is actually taken by Owen and not myself (and stolen from him too) but I dare say he is proud to show Arthur off!

I was looking at some lab coats and thinking about Randolph. He has a major eam coming up and he is really stressing. Mind you, not that I blame him. I would be stressed out too. Biology was never my strong point, let alone the intricacies of specifics! I think I will stick to psychology.Â Mind you, I suppose I did not really stick to that either. Very scary working in psychology. I like photography far better because it reflects what I see and I only want to capture what I like!

I found a site which is perfect for me. For most people it is great because it lets you stick pictures on your blog making it moree attractive. After all we always want our things to look their best. And the way to get our blogs to look their best is to use blog pictures. ObviouslyÂ the pictureÂ ought to be co-related to the post. You cannot write a post about dogs and then have a picture of planes! And least not unless you have some weird blog. (It is not like their are none of those about!)

Anyway, I found this site which lets you use their pictures. I think this is great because although I do take lots of photos, there are some I can only dream about ever being able to take. I mean seriously, would it not be great if I could take a picture of Earth as seen from Apollo 17!

From Acobox, you can get exactly that! Yes!Â This is a photo ofÂ Earth taken fromÂ space on Apollo 17. Now seriously… I have to be dreaming to be able to take that shot!

And besides being able to use their photos for blogging, I can also list my own with them. This should help increase my profile and make me feel like my photos are not a waste of time. Well, I suppose all hobbies are a bit of a waste of time, but we enjoy doing them… so why not?

Seriously… is this not one of the most amazing photos you have ever seen?

Opps. I just realised that the 100 photos are actually listed in my post for all the free photos. So sorry if I misled you. Mind you the free photos listed are over 200!!

I messed up on something I know something about, I am just glad that I was not talking about things like Yamaha rhino parts. I really am not into racing despite living in IOM!

Talking of racing… last TT we had a racing photographer stay with us. His photography was really good. My photographs of the TT… not so hot!! (They shoot by toooooooo fast!)

As I frequently keep getting asked where the best places to print photos are (because of my interest in photography), I have decided to dedicate this post to Photo Printing.

First and foremost, if you want only the very best and nothing but the very best… develop your own! But as this is not realistic in most people’s cases andÂ we do live in a day and age where digital is prevalant… lets speak digital.

The advantages of digital are numerous. You have the here and now factor. You can print directly from your camera and/or pc. You have the internet and its competition at your feet.

I find that printing your own on your printer actually tends to work out more expensive and unless you have a really good dedicated photographic printer… not very good prints. They can do for school projects or maybe a purse photo… but not much else.

The difference between one printer and the other is actually negligible. Unless you are really fussy, most people will not be able to tell the difference between one printer and another. Printers are all vying for your business and will encourage you to use them by offering you Free Prints. I personally believe that if they are being offered, then why refuse?
