Preparing for hospital
August 9th, 2009
I still need to prepare my bag for the hospital. I know it should be easy, all I need is to download a list from the internet but I cannot get round to it. I was joking with Owen, saying worst case I could send him out shopping while I am in labour!! Ok, I know this is unreasonable… but it is a plan B!
I guess unless I am given a couple of baby gift baskets and a set of mum to be things… then I need to move my backside and get my bag packed!!
Back from Butlins
June 23rd, 2009
We are back from Butlins and had a wonderful time. Arthur in particular was completely enthralled. He met Bob the Builder, Angelina Ballerina, Fireman Sam, Barney, Billy the Bear and even Barney (who strangely he did not want to have a photograph taken with him). I must write more about it… Owen took some great photos too, so I must add them to my blog.
Birthday
June 15th, 2009
It’s my birthday and I’ll party if I want to!! Yeah!!
I slept in all morning… perfect. Arthur made me fantastic cards. Arthur had his photo taken at school and Owen sadly had to go to work but this does mean that he will be able to spend more time with the twins when they come.
Sadly L’experience was closed but we went to a new chinese restaurant called China Town. Not bad but a tad expensive but it was a special occassion so who cares.
End of TT & BBQ
June 13th, 2009
It is the end of TT and the weather was wonderful over the TT. Had a BBQ today to celebrate my birthday (and the good weather). Cathy was a sweetheart and let me use her wonderful garden. I think we all had a wonderful time. Wish I could guarantee the weather every year.
TT
June 5th, 2009
Our TT homestay guests have arrived for TT. I must say I love TT as the IOM really comes alive. Hopefully the weather will hold out. Fingers crossed.
Travel
April 3rd, 2009
Arthur and I are back from Malta. We flew to Malta with RyanAir, which really isn’t that bad as long as you are not lugging around loads of luggage such as golf drivers and prams!! Actually I think 1 pram per child is actually acceptable but go over 15kg with your luggage and the costs are ridiculous. Basically I treat it as a bus service and therefore find it good.
Anyway.. what I was saying was I am back from Malta… and hopefully should start updating my blog more often.. believe me??? LOL!!
Maternity
February 13th, 2009
I cannot wait to actual start wearing my maternity clothes. There is something wonderful about wearing beautiful maternity clothes. I think it is probably the only time you can get away with being “fat”. I am already wearing a maternity bra… but I think I have outgrown it already, but I don’t mind. I am just so excited about being pregnant. I am slowly letting everyone know. But I will feel more secure when I go for the scan.
Good News
February 4th, 2009
Today we received our official results. And it is good news!! We have a positive result with our HCG levels well over 1000. Owen and I are over the moon. Arthur has told everyone that “I am the big brother”.
We are almost shell shocked. Yes, we were doing fertility treatment, but after our past experiences, well we were not expecting it to work. The truth is the success rate of FET – Frozen Embryo Transfer is around 7%. Which consider a full treatment is around 20 – 25% and it took us 4 tries. Well, we did not hold our hopes up high. We said it would all be down to Chance and Luck. Well it worked!!
It still feels strange because it took over 1.5 years to push Homerton into getting the treatment started. We actually gave up and transfered to Leeds Infirmiry but even the transfer took months because Homerton kept losing papers etc. When Mrs Moroney called to say the embryos were finally transfered and to pop in for a visit, well we did not expect to really start treatment. We were expecting some more delays. So when we had a quick injection and were told, well that is your treatment started – it did not sink in. Even our medication was minimal. No injections whatsoever – just tablets and pessaries! Between Christmas and Arthur‘s Birthday… well, we almost did not even think about it (well… it was easy to not pin our Hopes up – especially as we already had Hope)!
So almost 3 years after Arthur was born, we had our cycle. And now… we are proud to say we are pregnant!
I cannot wait to do up the nursery again with baby furniture and a cot, and get out all the baby clothes!!
Back
January 23rd, 2009
Owen and I are back from Leeds. And so now it is down to waiting time. It is so frustrating. You just wish that you can just do the test and get it over and done with. It is not like you are going to get certificate authentication when you get a positive result but the truth is there is power in knowing. I don’t mind if it is not positive, (ok I do mind) but at least I know and can just continue as close to normal as possible. Meanwhile here is to the tremendously long wait where time slows down. Still you never know, I might end up with another Arthur!
