Life’s a bitch

January 10th, 2009

I just read about a baby being abandoned in a school field. It rips me apart. Here I am hoping to get pregnant and a girl who doesn’t not have the human decency to give a new born baby a chance of survival gives birth to one. Unless as a society we take things more seriously, we are going to keep having these problems.

It is not about showering the baby in silver baby gifts, but at least, if you decide to give birth and don’t want the baby, give the child a chance to a decent life and have her adopted. Meanwhile, if anyone wants, I have a lovely home and lots of extra love to offer this child, and Arthur would love a brother or a sister!

Breakdown

January 5th, 2009

After church yesterday I passed by home to collect Owen and our car broke down. Getting RAC was almost a Joke. They start by requesting at least 2-factor authentication like name and membership number. Then they wanted to know our car number plate, car colour and what was wrong. After all the infomation they requested £81 for upgrading because it broke down infront of our house and not a quarter of a mile away. Seriously. I know we don’t have home start but we were actually pulled over half way on a drive. Never mind, we did what we Maltese to and sorted it out a la Maltija!

C’est la vie!

Owen’s Parents

November 10th, 2008

Owen‘s parents arrived today. I had hoped that our suite would be here before they arrived, but alas it was not to be. I am chasing after them constantly and seem to be getting nowhere! Considering that I ordered it over a month ago, with BIN on ebay and it cost nearly £900, you would think they would have delivered it by now! Never mind…. maybe for Christmas!

Interim Post!

This is a post that contains no links. It is of at least 3 sentences. And the reason for this post is to prove that I can be as pedantic as the next person!

Breastfeeding

August 20th, 2008

I came across a blog post based on a post from Miss604 about Breastfeeding problems & controversy at H&M in Canada. It struck me how sad our society is. We have decided to think that breastfeeding is too crude… yet in my opinion, breastfeeding is the most beautiful natural experience there is. So I thought I would share my experiences with the world. This is a short video I took many moons ago because I did not want to even slightly diminish the beauty of breastfeeding. Enjoy.

Certificate

July 18th, 2008

Arthur received his duckling 2 certificate but I was expected to pay for it. Feels like it undermines the achievement. It is not like they could not have added to cost of the paper to the lessons. It really destroyed the moment.

We had a family dental appointment and Arthur was so cute. He knew he was going to the Dentist and said that the Dentist was going to look into his mouth and pull out his teeth! He was so good too.

Travelling Again

January 11th, 2008

Arthur and I had to travel back to IOM. After we picked up the grandparents from Heathrow, we headed off to Gatwick. I have truely begun to hate Gatwick airport. They are the most useless airport around. The reason they are still 1 hand baggage allowance is because they are not coping. Now if they were not so silly that they still insist on removing peoples shoes, belts, jackets, laptops from laptop bags, put liquid items into transparent bags? etc etc. They even make you remove an infants shoes! Honestly how much could you hide in a toddlers pair of shoes?

If I had a choice, I simply would use another airport but living in IOM, it complicates matters. C’est la vie!

Building

November 6th, 2007

We have the pool area and adjoining rooms in Viola avenue and they need some structural work. We have been thinking or simply rebuilding the rooms as it means we have our minds at rest. So we started off by getting quotes. That alone was hard enough. You would be surprised how many people have answering machines and how many do not call back. What is the point.

So we started getting quotes. Then we thought for our protection, so the cost does not suddenly go up when they think they are milking a cash cow, we told them that we were going to have to refinance with mortgage loans. We thought that as long as they thought they were dealing with loans then they won’t add on “unexpected” costs. So we needed a change in quote and suddenly, the quote was £10k more than anticipated. Interesting!

Why is it that I get more spam comments than real comments?

I miss real comments and hate Spam ones!

What can you do?

Batteries

July 28th, 2007

We go through batteries like there is no tomorrow. We need batteries for 80% of Arthur‘s toys. We need batteries for Owen‘s gadget and batteries for my occassional erm item too!

The thing is they are so expensive. I have tried rechargable but unless the rechargable batteries come direct with the product, the rechargables are not as good as a Duracell Plus battery.

Wish I knew where to buy them cheaply!
