Big Cook Little Cook

June 3rd, 2007

Arthur loves Big Cook Little Cook. He even has his own little kitchen. He loves cooking on it. And he also loves helping Mummy anyway he can.

The only problem is there is only so much Big Cook Little Cook that Mummy can take!

Diet News

May 24th, 2007

Ok! Ok! I admit it. I gave up after a month of? dieting. I need to get back on board. Perhaps I ought to consider an alternative method? of dieting such as? Calorie Counting. I guess I need to get myself a Calorie Counter? or better still a Free Calorie Counter! Perhaps I should just join up with My Fitness Pal!

I current just feel so unmotivated to diet but I know I should. And I have lost so much weight in the past (without putting it back on), it would be a shame to not complete the task and aim for my ideal weight.

To Party or not?

May 23rd, 2007

It’s my birthday again! I think this is the point I turn 21 again and again! But that’s not the point of this conversation… you see I have a dilemma… To Party or not to party?

You see I have always believed in throwing a Party but since I moved to the Isle of Man and had Arthur, I have lead a quieter life. Anyway… the question is who would I invite?

So perhaps this year I will skip it and opt for a meal out instead. Though I still want a yummy cake!

Almost Omelette

May 21st, 2007

Today I made a yummy mushroom omelette. I actually really beat the eggs and poured it on top of the precooked ingrediants. Because the eggs were beaten, the omlette was really light and fluffy. It turned out semi layered and was really nice. Put it under the grill to brown the top. Really yummy! Even Arthur liked it! :)

Recipe Site

May 20th, 2007

I found a recipe site that I like and actually offers free recipes. You can search for any recipe that you would like and chose whether to have the ingredients in metric or not.

They even have articles such as “Japanese Cuisine” including Japanese etiquette and “What you need? to know about wine”.

They even have a cooking forum, where you can ask questions and even get hints and tips. I really like this site.

Arthur

May 19th, 2007

Arthur thread some pasta shapes onto string. I was quite impressed because it should be something he does when he is older. At least that is what I read.

Arthur also ate Indian Food today. He seemed particularly taken with the Naan bread. :)

Tea

May 10th, 2007

I am in trouble, I have run out of tea! Can you believe that! I normally have a whole stock of different tea including? :-

  • Tetley Tea (a common brand)
  • Raspberry Tea (mind you this is left over from when I was pregnant!)
  • Fruit Tea (always a selection of these as they are a great alternative)
  • Earl Grey (Owen loves this tea, though I prefer it when served with lemon rather than milk)
  • Green Tea (Chinese Tea or Jasmine Tea)

And all I have left are a couple of bags of Earl Grey and a few bags of Raspberry leaf!

We are currently trying all sorts of Gourmet Tea. In fact we have recently placed an order, and we have included some Chai tea. Hopefully it will be an? interesting flavourful tea. It is an black spiced Indian tea with an infused blend of ginger, cinnamon, cloves and star anise. Can you just imagine the frangrance on that tes? Chai? is a general word for tea in the Indian Culture but I suspect that Chai Tea will not just be an ordinary tea. I cannot wait to try it even though it has ginger!

And yes, I now drink tea! *slurp!*

Chocolate

April 23rd, 2007

Did you know that the melting point of chocolate is 35 degrees?

Did you know that my current favourite chocolate is Lindt? Feel free to remember this an Christmas, on My Birthday, Easter time and on my Unbirthdays! Yummy!

Diet Time

March 19th, 2007

I am officially letting the world know that I am embarking on phase 2 of my diet.

Phase 1 started a couple of years back before I conceived Arthur. I started it mostly to support Owen on his diet (and because it is easier to cook the same for 2 than different for 2!). I told Owen that I would follow Atkins with him for 1 month. If we lost no weight, we would return to eating a normal diet! Owen lost some weight immediately. Most people do at first, usually a result of excess water. But I didn’t. A week went by and then another and another. I lost no weight by the 3rd week and was grumpy to say the least! I had even told Owen that the month was nearly up and I would resume my normal diet but he could continue as it was obviously working for him. But then something happened and I lost a little weight by the end of week 4. So I stuck to it for another week going beyond a month and lost yet again some more weight. I kept sticking to it for a week at a time and kept losing weight. I even joined a gym! 5 months later I had gone from 94 kilos (I know its a lot - hence the diet!) to 80 kilos! My first target weight. This meant that I could proceed with my IVF treatment, which helped it work and Viola - Baby Arthur!

So, I got pregnant, put on about 8 kilos and lost it within 2 weeks of having Arthur just by eating healthily and not over doing the chocolate.

I did eventually give in to the chocolates, and as I slowed breastfeeding my weight crept up a little. I am currently 82.5 kilos. So I am embarking on phase 2 of my diet and would ideally like to reach 75 kilos. Though my first target is just 79.5 kilos, which hopefully should be an easier target to reach. I have also signed up with the NSC’s gym and aim to attend once a week, plus keep up swimming with Arthur once a week too.

So, today I started Atkins. And tomorrow I recommend you keep out of my way as I go through carb withdrawal symptoms!

I will see you in a few months time with a few more? clothes in a smaller size and a few pounds lighter in purse and weight!!

Wish me well!!
