Travel

April 3rd, 2009

Arthur and I are back from Malta. We flew to Malta with RyanAir, which really isn’t that bad as long as you are not lugging around loads of luggage such as golf drivers and prams!! Actually I think 1 pram per child is actually acceptable but go over 15kg with your luggage and the costs are ridiculous. Basically I treat it as a bus service and therefore find it good.

Anyway.. what I was saying was I am back from Malta… and hopefully should start updating my blog more often.. believe me???  LOL!!

Good News

February 4th, 2009

Today we received our official results. And it is good news!! We have a positive result with our HCG levels well over 1000. Owen and I are over the moon. Arthur has told everyone that “I am the big brother”.

We are almost shell shocked. Yes, we were doing fertility treatment, but after our past experiences, well we were not expecting it to work. The truth is the success rate of FET – Frozen Embryo Transfer is around 7%. Which consider a full treatment is around 20 – 25% and it took us 4 tries. Well, we did not hold our hopes up high. We said it would all be down to Chance and Luck. Well it worked!!

It still feels strange because it took over 1.5 years to push Homerton into getting the treatment started. We actually gave up and transfered to Leeds Infirmiry but even the transfer took months because Homerton kept losing papers etc. When Mrs Moroney called to say the embryos were finally transfered and to pop in for a visit, well we did not expect to really start treatment. We were expecting some more delays. So when we had a quick injection and were told, well that is your treatment started – it did not sink in. Even our medication was minimal. No injections whatsoever – just tablets and pessaries! Between Christmas and Arthur‘s Birthday… well, we almost did not even think about it (well… it was easy to not pin our Hopes up – especially as we already had Hope)!

So almost 3 years after Arthur was born, we had our cycle. And now… we are proud to say we are pregnant!

I cannot wait to do up the nursery again with baby furniture and a cot, and get out all the baby clothes!!

Yes Owen, Arthur and I are over the moon!

Back

January 23rd, 2009

Owen and I are back from Leeds. And so now it is down to waiting time. It is so frustrating. You just wish that you can just do the test and get it over and done with. It is not like you are going to get certificate authentication when you get a positive result but the truth is there is power in knowing. I don’t mind if it is not positive, (ok I do mind) but at least I know and can just continue as close to normal as possible. Meanwhile here is to the tremendously long wait where time slows down. Still you never know, I might end up with another Arthur!

Arthur’s Birthday

January 18th, 2009

Arthur is 3 today. Can you believe three years has passed since Arthur came into our world. They have been the happiest years of my life. I have never imagined I could feel this way. He means everything to me.

We celebrated his birthday with a Party and a bouncy Castle. You cannot not have the bouncy castle!!

Arthur’s Party

January 13th, 2009

It is Arthur‘s Birthday on Sunday. He is going to be 3! I am all organised (I hope) for his party. The only sad bit is that with family all over the world, not everyone can be at the party with us. It would be so wonderful if we could have live event video streaming so that everyone could be there. I know that Roderick and Randolph and Owen‘s Parents would love to be there and this would be a way to do it. Sadly I am not organised enough to get it sorted. So sorry everyone!

Life’s a bitch

January 10th, 2009

I just read about a baby being abandoned in a school field. It rips me apart. Here I am hoping to get pregnant and a girl who doesn’t not have the human decency to give a new born baby a chance of survival gives birth to one. Unless as a society we take things more seriously, we are going to keep having these problems.

It is not about showering the baby in silver baby gifts, but at least, if you decide to give birth and don’t want the baby, give the child a chance to a decent life and have her adopted. Meanwhile, if anyone wants, I have a lovely home and lots of extra love to offer this child, and Arthur would love a brother or a sister!

Santa Time

December 21st, 2008

We took Arthur to see Santa for Christmas at the home of rest for old horses. He asked Santa for Drums!!

Bedding

November 19th, 2008

We are in a lovely place in Edinburgh. We are literally 1 minute walk from the castle! We even have a turret to climb to our flat. The place is so authentic and warm. I cannot find any fault bar one tiny one. They wanted us to take our own baby bedding to the place for health and safety reasons. Isn’t that absolutely bizarre? At least they told us in advance but carrying them with all the weight limitations was not nice to say the least!

Adult Conversation

November 6th, 2008

Last night Owen & I were invited out to a dinner party. Arthur spent the night with Amirah. It made me realise just how lacking I am in adult company. My social circle consists of Arthur, his friends and their mums! Which generally means that our conversation tends to revolve around babies, baby clothes, and more baby stuff!!

I really enjoyed myself… I need to get more adult conversation and fast!!

Happy Birthday Papa!

October 27th, 2008

Happy Birthday Papa!

Shame that we cannot be with you to celebrate your birthday. Arthur made some biscuits in honour of your birthday. They were pretty good too!
