Back

January 23rd, 2009

Owen and I are back from Leeds. And so now it is down to waiting time. It is so frustrating. You just wish that you can just do the test and get it over and done with. It is not like you are going to get certificate authentication when you get a positive result but the truth is there is power in knowing. I don’t mind if it is not positive, (ok I do mind) but at least I know and can just continue as close to normal as possible. Meanwhile here is to the tremendously long wait where time slows down. Still you never know, I might end up with another Arthur!

Embryos Transfered

January 22nd, 2009

Today I had 2 embryos transfered. We called the Luck and Chance because that is what it is now going to boil down to. I wish I could do more, but I cannot. I know Hope worked, because we had Arthur… Now with a little Luck and some Chance, we could have a sibling or two for Arthur.

I must say I was impressed how quickly this whole treatment went by. It made me realise that hospitals like Homerton really need to improve application availability because leaving me wait 2 years was riddiculous. At least this went smoothly and truthfully before I knew it, here I was having Luck and Chance implanted. My fingers are crossed now.

Big Day

January 20th, 2009

Tomorrow is the big day. I am filled with dread and fear. You see so far things have really moved smoothly and cosidering past experience, well I am just waiting with bated breathe as to what is going to go wrong. Will it be their database administration? Will it be that none of the embryos make it? Or simply that it won’t work. After all success rates in embryo transfer are really low.

Arthur’s Birthday

January 18th, 2009

Arthur is 3 today. Can you believe three years has passed since Arthur came into our world. They have been the happiest years of my life. I have never imagined I could feel this way. He means everything to me.

We celebrated his birthday with a Party and a bouncy Castle. You cannot not have the bouncy castle!!

Arthur’s Party

January 13th, 2009

It is Arthur‘s Birthday on Sunday. He is going to be 3! I am all organised (I hope) for his party. The only sad bit is that with family all over the world, not everyone can be at the party with us. It would be so wonderful if we could have live event video streaming so that everyone could be there. I know that Roderick and Randolph and Owen‘s Parents would love to be there and this would be a way to do it. Sadly I am not organised enough to get it sorted. So sorry everyone!

Life’s a bitch

January 10th, 2009

I just read about a baby being abandoned in a school field. It rips me apart. Here I am hoping to get pregnant and a girl who doesn’t not have the human decency to give a new born baby a chance of survival gives birth to one. Unless as a society we take things more seriously, we are going to keep having these problems.

It is not about showering the baby in silver baby gifts, but at least, if you decide to give birth and don’t want the baby, give the child a chance to a decent life and have her adopted. Meanwhile, if anyone wants, I have a lovely home and lots of extra love to offer this child, and Arthur would love a brother or a sister!

Electric Blankets

January 6th, 2009

When I bought Owen‘s electric blanket ( from Boots in case you are wondering) I started getting befuddled with the choices. Today I put it on our bed and read the instructions that came with it. I knew it had two controls. What I did not know was that it could be tumble dried as well as machine washed. And it had options like it could have been a whole sheet rather than a section and it could have had a fragrance compartment. It would essentially work like a fragrance lamp but work with the blanket being turned on. Shame I did not know about it before I bought it.

Breakdown

January 5th, 2009

After church yesterday I passed by home to collect Owen and our car broke down. Getting RAC was almost a Joke. They start by requesting at least 2-factor authentication like name and membership number. Then they wanted to know our car number plate, car colour and what was wrong. After all the infomation they requested £81 for upgrading because it broke down infront of our house and not a quarter of a mile away. Seriously. I know we don’t have home start but we were actually pulled over half way on a drive. Never mind, we did what we Maltese to and sorted it out a la Maltija!

C’est la vie!

Happy New Year
