Bedding
November 19th, 2008
We are in a lovely place in Edinburgh. We are literally 1 minute walk from the castle! We even have a turret to climb to our flat. The place is so authentic and warm. I cannot find any fault bar one tiny one. They wanted us to take our own baby bedding to the place for health and safety reasons. Isn’t that absolutely bizarre? At least they told us in advance but carrying them with all the weight limitations was not nice to say the least!
Off to Edinburgh
November 18th, 2008
We are off to Edinburgh today. I must say I am looking forward to seeing Owen graduate.
I cannot wait to try Haggis, check out Arthur‘s Seat and hit the shops. And don’t worry Owen, I won’t go buying unique wedding favors just a fridge magnet or two!
Winter Wonderland
November 12th, 2008
I was on my hubby’s website and saw a post about a promotion being run for a Winter Wonderland competition. I do like competitions. There is the thrill that you might win. Ok aside from the fact that I probably won’t… it is still nice to try. After all I have won things in the past.
Anyway, apparently this competition has some really fantastic prizes.
Aren’t they absolutely fabulous prizes. I mean I would not mind winning any of them. I think I would struggle to decide which prize to chose if I had to choose one, but apparently the winner gets all. Yeay! And better than that… there are going to be three winners.
I know what I am going to be dreaming about tonight. I wonder if my sweet hubby was thinking the same thing?
Owen’s Parents
November 10th, 2008
Owen‘s parents arrived today. I had hoped that our suite would be here before they arrived, but alas it was not to be. I am chasing after them constantly and seem to be getting nowhere! Considering that I ordered it over a month ago, with BIN on ebay and it cost nearly £900, you would think they would have delivered it by now! Never mind…. maybe for Christmas!
Acobox
November 7th, 2008
I found a site which is perfect for me. For most people it is great because it lets you stick pictures on your blog making it moree attractive. After all we always want our things to look their best. And the way to get our blogs to look their best is to use blog pictures. Obviously the picture ought to be co-related to the post. You cannot write a post about dogs and then have a picture of planes! And least not unless you have some weird blog. (It is not like their are none of those about!)
Anyway, I found this site which lets you use their pictures. I think this is great because although I do take lots of photos, there are some I can only dream about ever being able to take. I mean seriously, would it not be great if I could take a picture of Earth as seen from Apollo 17!
From Acobox, you can get exactly that! Yes! This is a photo of Earth taken from space on Apollo 17. Now seriously… I have to be dreaming to be able to take that shot!
And besides being able to use their photos for blogging, I can also list my own with them. This should help increase my profile and make me feel like my photos are not a waste of time. Well, I suppose all hobbies are a bit of a waste of time, but we enjoy doing them… so why not?
Seriously… is this not one of the most amazing photos you have ever seen?
Interim Post!
November 7th, 2008
This is a post that contains no links. It is of at least 3 sentences. And the reason for this post is to prove that I can be as pedantic as the next person!
Happy?
So much to do…
November 7th, 2008
Sometimes things feel overwhelming. Fridays are always my busiest day. I take Arthur to school, and head home. I try to do some house stuff and some work and before you can say “Kitkat!”, it is time to collect Arthur. From school we head to the Onchan play group, from there to Ballet. Somehow squeeze in Dinner (today I cheated with KFC!) and then back to working on my pc!!
I am always exhausted by the end of it. The only consolation I have is that things could be worse… I could be planning a wedding at the same time and have to do things like picking unique wedding favors…. Hmmm, maybe that is not so bad after all!
Saving the pennies …
November 7th, 2008
If you watch the news on any channel today, you’re bound to hear all about the credit crunch and the turmoil on the financial markets. Well, it’s a sad situation and it makes sense for everyone to put some pennies aside for that rainy day. You never know, it might come in useful at some point.
We don’t tend to be super-frugal but it’s good to know where your money is going. We watch what we buy and don’t have any problem buying supermarket branded products, espeically if there’s no difference from the branded stuff (seriously .. how is branded salt any better from Tesco salt?) And it’s not just the little purchase you need to look at. But you can also remember that you can always get a better deal on the Web.
For example, if you pop down to ZenniOptical, you can find great deals on eyeglasses in a whole variety of shapes and sizes. You wouldn’t believe it, but you can get glasses from them from $8. Seriously, where else can you buy glasses at that price? They do all sorts of glasses from tinted glasses, bifocal glasses, progressive lenses and anything you might be after. Check them out.

Adult Conversation
November 6th, 2008
Last night Owen & I were invited out to a dinner party. Arthur spent the night with Amirah. It made me realise just how lacking I am in adult company. My social circle consists of Arthur, his friends and their mums! Which generally means that our conversation tends to revolve around babies, baby clothes, and more baby stuff!!
I really enjoyed myself… I need to get more adult conversation and fast!!
